Dog collars
Although it is pretty much accepted among most dog owners
that dog collars are necessary, few people think about the real reasons
why these are helpful.
• Keeps dogs from running away – Because you need a collar
for your dog in order to be able to put a leash on him, it is easy to
see how dog collars can be beneficial. Every year, thousands of dogs
who are not put on a leash run away. Sometimes these dogs find their
way back home, but more often they are not able to. A missing dog is
traumatic for the dog as well as the family. A leash can help you avoid
this potential situation.
• Keep dogs from getting you in trouble – If you have a
leash and dog collars for your dogs while at home, you can also save
yourself some serious problems with the neighbors. Often controversy
can be stirred up by a neighborhood dog chewing the shoes of a neighbor
or going to the bathroom in a neighbor’s yard. To promote peace
and unity in your neighborhood, use a collar and leash to control your
dog.
• Can be returned – Dog collars should have dog identification
tags. These tags can include the dog’s name as well as the contact
information for the family to whom the dog belongs. This is important
to have because even though you may try your best, dogs seem to find
a way of getting free and running off. If you have a tag around the
neck of your dog, the chances of your dog being returned to you are
much better.
Dog collars can do a lot for you and are pretty inexpensive. There
really is no excuse for not having one.
